STI : A throwback to Japanese performance

The STI story

The WRX STI has this sort of charm that stands out from its competition. It’s a good all-around car that is good on the track and the dirt, amazing in winter icy roads.

Power aside, the refined EJ motor, 6 speed, true AWD, its simplicity, raw driving experience, driver-focused feeling and it’s hydraulic steering really brings back the joy and experience with the early 2000s late 90s JDM cars/ driving style; which is nearly impossible to find now in modern cars today, except with the STI.

This final iteration is making 310 horsepower and 290 pounds of torque.

It’s the same as a sport mode, but just a semitone higher. When manual transmissions are a dying breed there’s a special place in car lover’s heart for the WRX/STI.
